About Dan

Dan was born and raised an only child on the northwest side of Chicago.  After attending St. Robert Bellarmine gradeschool, he went on to Notre Dame High School for Boys where he met many of his lifelong friends (many of whom are groomsmen).  During high school, Dan was involved in practically everything the school had to offer.  He was president of the student council as well as drum major of the marching band.  Coincidentally, this is the activity where he met Mary Fedorowski, the mutual fiend who eventually helped lead him to Lisa.  Dan continued with marching band in college, with the Northwestern University Marching Band.  There he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Biology.  Also during college he joined and became president of the men’s music fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  After graduation in 2001, Dan went on to work for Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company, then later Nanosphere, a medical device start-up.  While working for Nanosphere, Dan met his future bride and began dating and quickly falling in love with this lovely woman.  In 2005, Dan was accepted to and began matriculation at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  He is currently pursuing his MBA and will be graduating the spring before the wedding, June 2007.

About Lisa 

Lisa grew up on the northwest side of Chicago, a true Edison Park girl and another only child.  She started her educational career at St. Andrew’s School in Park Ridge, where she met many of her life-long friends.  During gradeschool she discovered many of her talents, including piano, art, and dance.  At the age of 6 she began piano lessons and quickly proved to be an immensely talented performer.  She attended Resurrection High School (where she despised every minute).  Luckily, those years flew by and she went up to Mequon, Wisconsin to attend Concordia University Wisconsin.  There she persued a piano performance degree and was involved in the dance team (where she performed in front of home football and basketball fans).  After earning a Bachelor’s degree in only 3 years (in 2004) she went directly on to earn her Master’s in Occupational Therapy.  Lisa just graduated in May 2006 and will be starting her career with Athletico Corporation, as an Occupational Therapist specializing in upper extremities and hands.  Lisa is extremely excited about her new career and loves to help people whenever she can.

The Proposal

Dan proposed to Lisa on Friday, March 3rd, 2006 in Washington DC. He took her on a mystery destination ‘pre-birthday’ trip. Not surprisingly, when Lisa found out the location was Washington DC, she was less than impressed. However, after walking around the monument mall a bit, she was warming up to the idea of a weekend in our nation’s capital. While walking towards the Lincoln Memorial, along the reflection pond, Dan stopped Lisa in her tracks and began to expound on how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Upon kneeling down and pulling out the ring box, Lisa began crying incoherently and jumping around with excitement and joy. After about two minutes of hugging and celebrating, Dan asked Lisa… ‘So, is that a yes?!’ After a resounding ‘OF COURSE, YES YES YES!’, Dan and Lisa were engaged. The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying the sites and each other’s company. Everytime they see a $5 bill, or see the White House on TV, they will be reminded of their magical engagement.
